Here we go! I think once we get established on the new server, we can then look at the crafting more carefully. I didn't realize it was soooo expensive and time consuming. I think Ill go for alchemy for myself, but as we gather, I plan to gather for the guild also, and send kinah as I can to help everyone. Razz

We need to pick another server and we will not be sure until NcSoft releases the designated RP servers. LETS RE-POLL HOOOORAAA

Just going to stick with Israphel at launch.

Personally, I am leaning against going Israphel for two reasons, although these aren't real mega "for sure" reasons. So if we do go Israphel, I won't cry.

One is that it was a real high traffic and population server in OBT, and will be the same on official launch probably. (I could be wrong.)

Two is that a number of people believe the gamer goons from Something Awful are going to choose that server to play for Aion.

Now I am not against goons or anything like that, but some people in the guild may not enjoy playing around them. (They are famous, or infamous, for swarming servers with hundreds of players, all playing on the same team/guild, and trolling forums or griefing or gleaning pubbie tears from all the QQ they can create. Some goons are nice, some are truly barbaric. )

I think we should choose a new server a little more slowly rather than instantly, unless there is a good reason to stick with Israphel. Or if Beco really wants it. I dunno.

So yeah, just my two Kinah on this one.

Good ideas Sage... I am starting to research severs as well... and did read upon this Something Awful legion going that route. I think during this Open Beta is what really counts --- let everyone 100% decide what class they will be, figure out the game, etc. Picking a server can always come a few days before launch... it doesn't seem like a vital decision at this moment. Good thoughts everyone.

Anytime there is an advanced warning ( albeit a rumor ) as Sage is presenting here it might be prudent to at least look into things a bit.
I didn't play PvP in AoC but I sure heard enough about Ascendant and their happy horse / grief they caused on that server.

i dont know if this is really my place to say anything, but as sages friend i do want to back him up. i also want to state my opinion because you guys will be taking sage, kromi, sages bro, 3 guys i have been playing with for awhile.

even though i went to make my own brig, i have hoped that we could renew a so -called "alliance". i dont know how you all felt about us joining then leaving, all i can say is im sorry. but whether yall want to be close with us or not, you still have 3 of our good friends so we would like to play on the same server regardless....

as sage said, the goons are on israphel, as well as some other large clans.. anathema, hammerfist, etc. ive played with many of these groups, goons being the worse of them all. they have the ability to control the population balance of a server themselves....they have done it in ace online, stacking each side back and forth when they felt like it. as badly as we want to play with sage, kromi, sages bro, our guys have already stated that they do not want to play on israphel, because of the overpop and the goons. im not saying that you guys should leave israphel because we arent playing there, im not trying to scare you, im just trying to offer my experiences playing with such legions.

now i dont know which server the goons will choose to corrupt for release... but if you still dont get the picture.... watch this...

I agree Bogs... it's always good to look into something such as this. I don't know Sage that well yet... but him and Swimchamp seem to present good ideas to the table. As I said before... us learning the game in general is most important. Picking a server will simply be a follow the leader-esque thing... a server won't change the gameplay. Although I will back up Bogs with any decision made... I think we need to think about it longer.

again, mine and sages intentions arent to cause problem...we are just simply putting it on the table. out of respect for each other as friends and between our legions.

I've talked to Snake for some time in vent about the server stuff, he gave me some feedback.

I've personally decided that any server is good to join. (If you think my opinion matters, jajajajaja!) In other words, I feel I've been thinking too hard on the issue. Plus, in my last post, I've been only considering what I've said as "suggestions" rather than "we must do this." It's up to the officers + The Bloody Baron Beco who make group decisions, and since Dragon Lords is strong enough to do its own thing and not be pushed over by other people, then there shouldn't be a problem if we join a server that potentially has some trollers/griefers. (This is what Snake pointed out to me. i.e., grow some BAWLZ OF STEEL)

With approx. 30 base members and at least 15 "core" members, DL should be self sufficient enough to make some sort of name for itself on any server. At least I think so. WE HAVE THA POWA

On the SA Goons issue, I did some research in the SA forums and other places...I got a couple RUMORS saying Israphel, but not a true confirmation. Goons has made an Aion-based website to allow sponsers + registered goons to all join the same goonie organization...so they will be going into Aion en masse.

How much, not sure, probably 100-200 minimum from what I skimmed in the forums so far.

So yeah, that's it from me. Israphel or no Israphel, all totally fine with me. Hopefully we won't regret something with our choice in one way or another.

(Oh, Swim, my IRL bro isn't playing Aion. It's myself, Argos, Kromi. But my IRL bro MAY play, though, so that'll make 4 members in the Sage Super-team. AWWW YEHHHHH )

This is a really good post again Sage... and Swim. I agree that it's going to be up to Beco, however... it seems almost unanimous that no one would want to be on a server full of idiots. Again, as I said before, I'm pretty sure I can speak on behalf of everyone and say once again that this last Beta is about knowing your toon, where to go, how to craft, etc etc. Picking a server certainly can be put on the back-burner until further notice. I'd say learning the crafting and getting our guild name our there is of more importance at the moment than finalizing a server.

Sorry everyone but we will be playing on Triniel server at launch. This is being done because of Zikel being most likely the RP server. Also because our alliance legions are moving there because of the same thing.
